Frequently asked questions

FAQs – Working with Bob

What type of graphic design services do you offer?

You name it we probably do it. We offer a wide variety of graphic design services including design for print media. This encompasses logos and branding, brochures, presentation folders, newsletters, magazines, illustration, photography, direct mail, marketing and stationery. We also offer design for digital media including web design, e-newsletter campaigns, Twitter and Facebook graphics.

Will I have one main point of contact?

Yes. When a job begins you will be assigned an account manager (Wayne or Stuart) who will be your main point of contact throughout the project.

Will you involve me in the design process?

You can have as much or as little input into the design process as you wish. We begin every project with a thorough discussion about your requirements and ideas. During the design process you will be asked to provide feedback at key points.

How can I check on the progress of my job during the design process?

We keep you updated on the progress of your project and ask for feedback at key points. This promotes a sense of involvement and participation and prevents any breakdown in communication. You are always welcome to call, email or pop in if you’d like to discuss any aspects of your project further.

Can you handle the commercial printing for me?

Absolutely. We can manage the whole process from specification to creating print ready for artwork. The team has been buying print for longer than we care to remember, meaning we’ve sussed the best local printers who offer superior quality, service and value for money.

Can you help me source a reputable photographer?

Bob works with a variety of local photographers, each with their own area of expertise. We will happily put you in touch with a suitable photographer or project manage and art direct the process for you.

How can I get started?

Call 0117 973 9326 and speak to either Wayne or Stuart in the studio. We will listen to your requirements and offer solutions that you may not have considered.

FAQs – Pricing and payment

Do I have to pay for an initial consultation?

No. We would be delighted to meet you at our studio or your place of business to discuss your requirements. It’s important to meet potential clients face-to-face to gauge what they are trying to achieve.

Do you work to set project prices?

We don’t have set rates for projects, but each job is priced on a standard hourly/day rate.

Do you give a contract rate for long-term projects?

We sometimes work on a retainer basis for long-term projects. We would be happy to discuss this option with you if it’s applicable.

What types of payment do you accept?

We prefer payment by BACS, but we will accept business cheques too.

What are your standard payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date.

FAQs – Environmental considerations

Will getting a large number of brochures printed be harmful to the environment?

The production of print needn’t be harmful to the environment. Our selected printers are FSC certified, meaning the paper they use is sourced from sustainable forests and the processes they employ comply with the highest social and environmental standards. The use of vegetable-based inks helps further limit any negative impact on the environment. When certain papers are used, we can arrange for your printed materials to be carbon balanced and offset by the World Land Trust.

Are there any web-based alternatives to getting brochures printed?

We can create electronic page-flip brochures that are hosted online and linked to your website. Media such as sound and video can be added to bring the brochures to life without the need for special software. Page-flip brochures can also help your website’s search engine visibility. PDF e-books which offer integrated and easy-to-navigate online brochures are another possible alternative.

FAQs – Final artwork and copyright

Who owns the copyright for work Bob has produced for me?

Any concept work or initial ideas are the intellectual property of Bob. When payment is received, the copyright is passed to you. We reserve the right to use work for promotional purposes (please check our terms and conditions).

What happens to the artwork when the project is completed?

We are happy to provide electronic copies of any artwork we have created upon final payment. The majority of our clients work with us on an ongoing basis and keep an archive of work produced.
