Refining the identity of Colston’s Girls’ School and infusing its DNA into other schools as it adopts the academy approach.
The CGS Trust is a Bristol-based multi academy trust which provides outstanding education for its pupils. The trust has three schools – Colston’s Girls’ School, the Dolphin School and the Kingfisher School.
In 2012, Bob undertook some logo and brand development for CGS Trust by refreshing the Colston’s Girl’s School brand. Bob has since produced a variety of graphic design projects for the school, including a new prospectus. The prospectus had a striking front cover which comprised an evocative mix of photography, as well as an illustrative ‘thought bubble’ which depicted assorted elements related to school life. Other projects included a sixth form prospectus, brochures, flyers, invitations, window graphics and billboard posters. The range of marketing collateral is helping the CGS Trust achieve its marketing objectives. Colston’s Girl’s School is currently oversubscribed and open days continue to be extremely well attended.
When the trust brought the Dolphin and Kingfisher Schools into their portfolio, they needed to establish a clear link between the CGS and Dolphin School brands. Bob developed a series of logo options for the Dolphin School brand. Each option isolated elements of the CGS crest, with the chosen option featuring the distinctive twinned dolphins. The brand identity has been applied to a variety of marketing collateral to promote this very popular school. Bob developed a series of logo options for the Kingfisher School brand centred around a stylised kingfisher. The logo used the school colours of burgundy, silver and black. The kingfisher was applied to the existing CGS Trust crest to provide a link between the Kingfisher School and the two other establishments.
The new school brands and sales documentation are helping CGS Trust achieve its marketing objectives. Both Colston’s Girl’s School and the Dolphin School are currently oversubscribed and open days continue to be extremely well attended. Our work with Kingfisher School is helping to create positivity around a previously failing school. Bob is currently working with the CGS Trust to develop marketing collateral for a new school opening in Bristol in 2015.
