For 2020, SAERI asked Bob to utilise the format that was so well received in 2019 when we first worked on the Annual Report. For the new report, we retained the approach of using three sections that work together as a whole and as individual documents. This gives the team at SAERI a flexible annual report with the potential for use as promotional material throughout the year. For example, the financials section at the back can be removed to create an overview of the year, or the middle section can stand alone as a summary of the projects SAERI has been working on.

SAERI conducts research in the South Atlantic from the tropics down to the ice in Antarctica. It aims to conduct world-class research, teach students, and build capacity within and between the South Atlantic Overseas Territories.

One of the great things about working with SAERI is there’s always a wealth of inspirational photography to work with from their research in the Falkland Islands and elsewhere across the South Atlantic. For the new report, we were again blessed with stunning photos to showcase and made use of wildlife photography featuring land and marine life – seals, whales, all manner of underwater colour.

In line with their environmental ethos, SAERI decided this year to take a purely digital approach to distribution of the report. To facilitate this we supplied the final report in PDF and HTML flip book formats which allowed the team at SAERI to both cut environment impacts from paper and production processes and cost effectively disseminate the report online.
